Ways We Support Teachers

Guidance

There are times when you need support and guidance from an objective individual to talk through issues or ideas related to your teaching career. Do you have a problem to solve? Do you want personalized guidance on an aspect of your teaching and planning? Look no further! Dive deep into a heart-to-heart conversation with Dr. Traci Scheepstra to articulate your personal and professional needs. Collaboratively, we will create a doable action plan for the next steps in your journey as a conscious-minded teacher.

Mentoring

It is not uncommon for teachers to feel a lack of support when it comes to their overall well-being. Low well-being can severely impact teaching effectiveness and student success. It can also lead to a rise in stress, decline in mental health, burnout, increased absenteeism, and job termination. Can you relate to this? Working with an experienced mentor who understands the education system and the expectations of teachers is a worthwhile investment for you, your students, and your career. You will be seen, heard and cared for, your mental and emotional health will be nurtured, you will learn how to prioritize a work/life balance, and your practice as a conscious-minded teacher will deepen.

Resources

Conscious-minded teachers are always looking for ways to advance their teaching practice and improve student achievement and success. This often includes sourcing high quality, user-friendly, and evidence-based resources. This is where we excel! We offer resource bundles that focus specifically on you to support your mental and emotional well-being. We also have a number of resources that focus on experiential and movement-based learning, the arts, and Indigenous ways of knowing, which you and your students will love.

Workshops

Work with Dr. Traci Scheepstra to custom design a workshop (or series of workshops) to meet the professional needs of educators in your school or school board. We focus on four specific areas of education through a holistic and transformative framework:

  1. Experiential and Movement-Based Learning: integrate movement and the whole-body throughout the school day and across the curriculum

  2. Arts Education: use the arts as a creative vehicle to build classroom community and healthy relationships, bolster mental health and well-being, learn about difficult curricular topics, and enhance student learning and engagement

  3. Elementary Dance: become proficient in understanding the dance curriculum to successfully implement a dance program for students of all ages

  4. School Related Gender-Based Violence: understand the complexity of this prevailing epidemic, what to look for in your school context, and ways to address the problem
