Identifying and Managing Emotions

Social-emotional learning skills are critical for students to succeed in all aspects of school life, and to grow into well-rounded and positive-minded adults. One important skill that needs to be learned at a young age is identifying and managing one’s emotions. This can easily be integrated into the class schedule by starting the day with an emotional check-in. In other words, invite students to reflect on how they are feeling before delving into the curriculum. In this video you will learn step-by-step tips on how to incorporate student check-ins into your day.
