This is a simple exercise to activate the body and awaken the brain. Bouncing has many therapeutic purposes from supporting the mind body connection to stimulating the lymphatic system. For students who spend a lot of time sitting, bouncing counteracts tension that builds up in the body (e.g., tight muscles in the neck and shoulders). Although there is greater ability to bounce while standing, it can also be done in a sitting position for those with mobility limitations. Playing light and bouncy music can make this activity fun!
